Those figures apply to the standard SUV. A larger motorhome could require a more powerful battery and longer charging stops. It would also need charging stations with enough space for a long, tall vehicle.
This problem affects the entire electric-RV industry. Electric recreational vehicles are beginning to appear, but many are still in development, pilot programs or limited production. Industry coverage indicates that only a small number of electric RV products are currently reaching customers, while major manufacturers continue testing new platforms.
For a BMW motorhome to succeed in the United States, it would need more than luxury design. It would require reliable pull-through fast chargers, strong thermal management and an efficient system for powering the cabin without heavily reducing driving range.
